Madiba is a pool deck and bar designed as a natural extension of K-Hotel in Bana, Cameroon, drawing inspiration from the African wood engravings integrated throughout the hotel’s architecture. The brand reflects a deliberate balance between modern structure and organic surroundings, informed by the contrast between geometric architectural lines and the softness of the lush landscape and pool environment. This relationship shapes both the spatial experience and the visual identity, creating an atmosphere that feels composed, relaxed, and connected to its setting. The result is a destination that encourages guests to slow down and engage with the space in a calm, intentional way.
The identity system is built around refined geometric patterns and clean forms. The Madiba logo monogram mirrors the fluid reflection of the letter “M” on the surface of water, resulting in a mark that conveys serenity and relaxation. A restrained palette of black, tan, and bone grey supports the transition from a calm daytime retreat to a more energetic evening destination, while a modern sans-serif typeface reinforces the brand’s elevated yet approachable character. The overall identity is minimal, modern, and refined.
