Kotcha
Naming . Branding . Environmental Design

Kotcha is an all-day dining restaurant at the 4-star K-hotel in Douala, Cameroon. The brand creation began with the name, which is derived from the lush vegetation surrounding Mount Ba Kotecha. The African landscape with its majestic mountains, wild forests and jungle terrain was the main inspiration behind the restaurant’s concept and visual identity.

The graphical elements consist of a series of overlapping organic shapes with earthy tones of green and terracotta, inspired by nature and the warm African sunsetsThe sophisticated logo typeface adds a layer of refinement and modernity to the concept, key to attracting business executives, government workers as well as families that live in the area. A round logo version with a “K” monogram is also created for an emblematic look that evokes a communal sense of belonging.

The restaurant deliverables range from logo design, to signage, food & drinks menu, coasters, bill holder and staff uniforms. The outcome is an inviting and vibrant contemporary dining experience where customers can explore the exquisite flavours that abound in the region, while enjoying a down-to-earth vibe.
